South Australian Support Group Update
Our first information session for the new South Australian pancreatic cancer support group was held on July 25th 2017 and saw 15 people come together to share their experiences and tips on how to better manage a cancer diagnosis. Tuesday 19th September saw the second session welcome 12 attendees and a representative from the cancer council South Australia to talk about the services available.
The group is hosted by Steve Pendry, a 3-year pancreatic cancer survivor. Pancare are delighted to be working with Steve to establish the support group, “while many support groups exist in South Australia for specific types of cancer, there is currently no formal support group for pancreatic cancer patients, their families and carers. Because each form of cancer has a unique set of characteristics and treatments, the nature of the support required by patients and families can vary,” said Steve.
The patient support group runs on the third Tuesday of the month at 1pm. For more information or to attend future meetings, please call Sonia Mursec on 1300 881 698 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
