Facebook birthday fundraisers
Facebook gives people the opportunity to create birthday fundraisers. You can use your birthday to raise funds for causes you care about, by allowing friends to donate to your birthday fundraiser in lieu of gifts.
Setting up your birthday fundraiser
If you are already on Facebook, around two weeks before your birthday, you will see a message from Facebook in your News Feed giving you the option to create a fundraiser for your birthday. It is a very straightforward process.
- Select Pancare Foundation as your nominated charity
- You can then nominate how much money you would like to raise
- Choose an end date for your fundraiser
- Your fundraiser will auto-populate with some information about the importance of Pancare Foundation’s work. You can either change this or leave it as is.
- You are then able to change the image if you would like to or you can leave the pre-populated image as is.
- Click ‘Create’
Once you have set up your Facebook Birthday Fundraiser friends will receive a notification inviting them to support Pancare in honour of your special day. You can also share your birthday fundraiser on your Facebook Feed and invite friends and family to donate to Pancare Foundation.
On conclusion of the fundraiser, donations will be sent to the Paypal Giving Fund and then transferred to Pancare within 90 days.
Facebook doesn’t currently advise not-for-profits when people are running fundraisers for their benefit so it would be wonderful if you could please let us know so that we can get in touch and say thank you!
Don’t forget:
