Holding An Event

Hold An Event Or Fundraiser Pic

Join the fight against pancreatic and upper gastrointestinal cancers by hosting your own fundraiser or event in benefit of the Pancare Foundation.

From a sausage sizzle at your local sporting club to a head shave, or the sale of Pancare wristbands, our only requirement is that you have fun! It’s a good idea to have an online donation process to make it simple for your donors. Set up your page through our fundraising platforms below.

You can help us reach our goal to increase survival and support people affected by pancreatic, liver, biliary, oesophageal and stomach cancers.

Let us know

Contact our Fundraising & Events Team and let us know what you are planning. We can help suggest ideas and techniques to make your event a success and can assist with promotion and logistics.

Q: What do I do after my fundraising has finished?

It is likely that donations will be placed post your event. Make sure you keep your fundraising page active for at least a week after the event. Ensure you follow everyone up who was involved by thanking them for their support and telling them how much money you raised. Pancare is happy to send through a letter of thanks to everyone involved as well – we just need you to give us the details of who to write to and what they contributed!

Q: How do I make my event annual?

Next year, work towards raising a new fundraising goal. Get all the names and contact details of the people who donated or attended so you can invite them along the following year. Don’t be disheartened if Year 1 wasn’t as big as you had hoped… learn from your experience and aim to increase the impact of your event the following year.

Q: My loved one has passed, how can I fundraise in memory of them?

If your loved one has passed, you might like to celebrate their memory on their birthday or other special occasion like a wedding anniversary.  You can set up a donation registry in their name, adding a special memory to celebrate their life.

Q: Can I leave a donation as a gift?

For your next birthday, Christmas or Secret Santa, consider a donation in your name to the Pancare Foundation in lieu of a gift. Donations can be made straight to the Pancare website or alternatively you can set up a fundraising page with GoFundraise or EverydayHero.

Q: I’d like to get my work involved, how does that work?

Send a group email to your work colleagues. Remember to talk about the vital work we do and why you feel passionate about raising funds on our behalf. Don’t forget to include our website or your donation page in your email and even ask your manager, or HR department, if they will consider dollar matching what you raise. Finally, if your workplace has social media – see if there is anyway of promoting your event through their channels.

Q: Should I share my fundraising on social media?

Most definitely – you can create a Facebook event and invite all your friends. If it is an open event make sure the settings are not on private, that way your friends can invite more people to the group. Make sure you include all the event details and how they can donate. If your budget allows, you can consider doing some Facebook advertising. For around $50 you can normally reach up to 1000 people.
